This is the only text for theater by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, the Nobel Prize winner, author of the world-famous novel, "100 Years of Solitude".

 The  theatrical production of the 90-minute, one-woman play, ''Diatribe of Love Against a Seated Man''  focuses on basic existential questions  about the Fate of the Modern Man:

 Love, the beginning of the beginnings! What is it? Where does it lead the Man, where it is tricking him, what and why happens with it over the years?

​

How does the girl-woman reevaluate her long and complicated journey to the 25th anniversary celebration of her own wedding?  Born in the extreme neighborhoods of poverty, she experiences  violent battles with life, after struggling to get out of the lowlands, she has gained several higher education achievements and marries a hereditary aristocrat from the high society. Their marriage - conceived with the delight of love -  has  passed through thousands of perils and finally has collapsed to the artificially maintained external luster of the happy rich family to  the society. What is next?

Through what kind of  seas and oceans  - sometimes violent, or smooth as a moon lake,  funny as the red nose of the circus clown, has sailed the "SHIP OF LIFE" and where will it dock at the end?

This is a story of a marriage swirled in the fair of life. As well as dramatic and filled with sorrow and melancholy, it flashes  with humanity and hope.

 In this production the famous Bulgarian actress Maria Sapundjieva with her striking cabaret performance invites its spectator to an inner walk in the field of a high-quality literature. Her ability to interpret the paradox and the tragic depths in the Man is no less brilliant than her comedy talent, seen in the television burlesques, where the wide Bulgarian audience well knows her.
